Department of Civil Law
The formation of Department of Civil Law and process of Irkutsk State University coincides in time with the formation of the University and the opening of Law Faculty - 1918.
The modern history of the department is characterized by close scientific contacts with the country's leading universities - Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Tomsk State University, Russian Academy of Economics, Moscow State Law Academy, the Far Eastern Federal University, and others.
The Department takes an active part in organizing of scientific conferences, seminars and forums in the Law Institute. For example, in 2009 on the basis of Law Institute of ISU XII Colloquium of novelists of Central and Eastern Europe and Asia was held.
In 2011, in honor of the anniversary of the first dean of the ISU Faculty of Law, Professor Vasily Domanzho (who was a famous novelist) in the Law Institute was opened Audience of Roman law. Keys to the audience handed to the Head of the Department of Civil Law - Alexander Klimovich. The Audience of Roman law is used for interactive sessions, workshops and training courses, video lectures. It also take place meeting students' scientific society of the Roman law.
