Scientific Events
There are more than 10 scientific events of regional, national and international level every year on the basis of Law Institute ISU: the traditional scientific and practical conferences and round table discussions on topical issues, competitions, intellectual games, summer schools.
Traditional academic activities of Law Institute ISU:
International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Law Making and Law Enforcement Activities in the Russian Federation".
Every year in the Law Institute of ISU is hosted international scientific-practical conference "Actual problems of lawmaking and law enforcement activities in the Russian Federation". Traditionally, the conference is held twice a year - spring and fall.
The conference is attended by over 200 experts: leading legal scholars in Russia, as well as professors from foreign universities-partners, practitioners, students and graduates of Russian universities. In total the conference participants represent more than 100 reports.

National Student Law Competition (NSLC)
The "National Student Law Competition" was launched in 1998 on the initiative of the Youth Union of Lawyers of Russia. Annually National Competition brings together more than three thousand of future lawyers from all country. Contest aims are: to encourage scientific research of students in a democratic state of law; facilitate the process of acquisition of additional professional knowledge and skills.
Law Institute of ISU since 1998 is the basic institution for the District NSLC round on the Siberian Federal District. There are annually from 20 to 25 high schools in such cities as Abakan, Barnaul, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Kyzyl, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Chita, Ulan-Ude, etc., participate in it.
Student Legal Science Week
In 2010, the Student Scientific Society of Law Institute of Irkutsk State University took the initiative of the Week of the Student Legal Science. The idea was supported by the administration of the institute. The main purpose of the event: the encouragement of scientific activity of students of 1-2 courses, engaging undergraduate students to the SSS of Law Institute of Irkutsk State University.
The program of the week of the student legal science are included events which are different in format and content: the presentation of the Student Scientific Society of Law Institute of ISU, methodical seminars on the issues of writing scientific works and academic activities, mini-conference of student scientific circles of Law Institute of ISU, round table discussions of legislation and various topical issues.
International Summer Law School
International Summer Law School is a joint educational project of Law Institute, Russian and foreign universities-partners. The unusual form and rich scientific and theoretical program annually prove the effectiveness and availability of School as educational techniques.
"The Constitutional Ring"
The traditional intellectual game dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of Russian Federation takes place in the Law Institute of ISU for over 10 years. Three teams have fought for title of the best expert on Russian and foreign constitutions.
In 2010, " The Constitutional ring" has acquired the status of intercollegiate and now it involves teams from other law schools in Irkutsk.
