Department of Theory and History of State and Law
The Theory and History of State and Law Department of Law Institute of ISU is the oldest department of Law Institute of ISU. Since the founding of the ISU in 1918 the first professors and senior lecturers of the university read the courses of the general theory of law, history of Russian law, history of political and legal doctrines,and others.
In recent years, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law developed areas of research: "Religious legal systems of the present" (Head of prof. Igor Arzumanov), "Development of the system of tax support of local government" (Head of prof. Igor Arkhipkin), "Theoretical problems of legal regulation of social relations" (Head of prof. Andrey Pyanov), "The history of public-legal institutions" (Head of prof. Victor Kazarin). The lecturers of the department within these areas carry out scientific articles and monographs.
