Department of Judicial Law
The Department of Justice and Prosecutorial Supervision was created by a decision of the Academic Council of Law Faculty of Irkutsk State University in the 1987 on the basis of allocation of the state and subjects of the two departments - the Department of Criminology and Criminal Procedure, and the Department of Civil Law and Procedure. In 2010 by the decision of the Academic Council of ISU Department was reorganized into the Department of Juridical Law.
The Department supports a close relationship with the judiciary, law enforcement agencies. Prominent practitioners are providing guidance and review writing diploma works (for example the judges of district and regional courts, the chairman Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Irkutsk Regional Court, the Civil Chamber, regional court judge).
Particular attention is paid to practical training of students: for participation in scientific conferences, for lecturing, for management of writing and reviewing of diploma research practitioners involved. Professors of the department actively take part in work of Legal Clinic of the Institute, where students under the guidance of facilitators advises citizens on legal matters free of charge.
