Аннотация. Рассказывается о кафедре уголовного права Юридического института Иркутского государственного университета,
ее сложной и драматичной судьбе на протяжении 100 лет существования. Рассмотрена судьба некоторых профессоров-первопроходцев,
стоявших у истоков возникновения кафедры. Подчеркивается высокая квалификация профессорско-преподавательского состава,
способного донести до каждого студента славные традиции и новации иркутской уголовно-правовой и криминологической школы.
Рассмотрен вклад кафедры уголовного права в подготовку научных кадров, работающих на юридическом и политическом поприще
практически во всех частях нашей страны. Приведена информация об активной деятельности кафедры
в рамках научно-исследовательской работы студентов.

Abstract. The article describes the Department of criminal law of the Law Institute of the Irkutsk State University, its complex and dramatic
fate for 100 years of existence. The Department appeared almost simultaneously with the emergence of the Irkutsk state University and its
first employees were professors of other universities in Russia. The hard and selfless was their way in the path of the Irkutsk criminal legal
education, some of them were subsequently arrested. But the seed of criminal law science in Irkutsk was thrown into fertile soil, which grew up
a whole galaxy of scientists and teachers, who gratefully continued the work of the pioneers. Despite the fact that in the 30-40s the faculty
of law did not exist as an independent unit, students with serious scientific and practical training in the field of law continued to graduate from
the University. The recent history of the Department of criminal law begins its countdown from the late 90-ies of the last century. Many young
and talented researchers and teachers faithfully and selflessly made their contribution to the history of the Department of criminal law of the
Law Institute of the Irkutsk State University. Today, the Department also continues to be proud of the names of its graduates working in the
legal and political field in almost all parts of our vast country. There was at the Department in the first quarter of the XXI century and qualified
teaching staff, able to convey to each student the glorious traditions and innovations of the Irkutsk criminal law and criminological school.
We can say that continuity of generations at the Department of criminal law of the Law Institute of the Irkutsk State University is confirmed and time-tested!
