Аннотация. В статье освещается возникновение и развитие механизма лесной собственности на Руси и в Российской империи.
Анализируются субъекты лесного права. Обосновывается периодизация, которая характеризует историко-правовую сторону вопроса;
показана эволюция от полного отсутствия правовых норм до кодификации лесного права в соответствии
с задачами государственной лесной политики и сменой социально-экономической формации.

Abstraсt. Article is devoted formation of the wood legislation in Peter I board. Peter the Great contribution to cardinal change of the relation
of the state and the population to wood resources is analyzed. Namely, giving to popularity woods,
the organization of the prohibitive system accompanied by threats of severe punishments for default of wood instructions,
establishment of a management system of management of woods, working out and introduction of various elements of silvicultural activity and,
at last, about 200 decrees and orders of legal character on wood.
